My name is Alison Smart and I am a copyeditor and proofreader, providing professional, affordable editing services for businesses, independent writers, academics and students. I accept a wide range of material, including business publications, marketing literature, theses, dissertations, memoirs and websites. I chiefly work in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, but I am happy to work with hardcopy text as well. I am a British English speaker and have extensive experience of working in US English.
I am a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, which exists to promote excellence in English language editing, and have completed the Publishing Training Centre's proofreading course, passing with distinction.
